i have a 66 coupe, 6 cyl automatic. i'm going to keep the drivetrain as is for now, but i'd like to convert it to 5 lug. does anyone make 5 lug axle shafts for the stock 6 cyl axle?
Any machine shop can weld up the existing holes and re-drill them to suit your needs. Be sure to ask prices first, as a machinist, I can tell you that some shops charge shocking prices.
i agree with swapping in an 8" rear end from something like a granada or maverick. they have 5 lug axles and are an upgrade from the stock 7.25 rear end.
Very true. In fact I have a complete1965, 8" rear from my old fastback that I would let go cheaper than you could have your axles redrilled. But shipping would probably eat up the cheap part.

I've considered making them. I think it would be a good product. There are a lot of 6 cylinder owners who are content to do only what is absolutely necessary to make the disc swap. My experience with customers is that, unlike many forum members, a majority do not particularly relish the mechanical part of a disc swap. They just want disc brakes.
