5 lug conv. on 84?

ive done this swap before on my 86 but i was wondering, i heard you can use 2wd 4 cyl ranger rotors with the mustang bearings if you dont want to swap the spindles and everything for the 11 inch rotors. anyone done this, i have a ranger that i could get them off of for nothing. thanks

I've done it and it works fine if your not trying to upgrade braking performance but want to run 5lug wheels. You can reuse the bearings in the Mustang rotors but the rear seal and dustcap are different so you need to use Ranger ones. I also found that the "hat" part of the ranger rotor is just slightly bigger in diameter than the Mustang one and will possibly rub just a bit on the metal part of the outer brake pad. Might not happen with all pads but it did on the ones I used. A little action with the grinder on the pad will fix it right up. Other than that its easy.
