I want to do a 5 lug swap AND pickup another 3/4 of an inch in width up front. I read somewhere that the 96+ spindles will push the width out about that far. Has anyone done this to their fox body if so what all is involved? Any help greatly appreciated

they will push it out a little but I think it was more like 22mm. the 99+ are even wider and I believe they are 3/4 of an inch. Becareful though because you may cause you to run different backspacing as well. I bought 96+ rear axles so mine will sit out further in the rear. I can't see why you would want to push the fronts out that much more. Best of luck to you.

Thanks I want to do the 5 lug and pick up some width because the rims I am looking at are only 4.25 inches of backspacing

Adding width to run 4.5" backspace wheels will push the wheels further out. Making fitment worse.

The '96-'04 spindles are 8mm wider per side.

I assume this is connected to your other post?

You would have to remove track width to install wheels with 4.5" of backspace.

Rear axles vary. '94-'98 are the same width. '99-'04 are 1" wider per side.

You can narrow front track width by 1/2" per side on 88 and later cars by running an '87 k-member. They result in a 1" narrower track width.

It's for an 86 so I am guessing that the k-Member is allready about as narrow as its gonna get If the wheels are gonna pop out .75 on each side I don't think I will have a problem thanks for all the help Tjm73 :SNSign: I appreciate it

94-98 are not the same as fox rears. but 94 through 98 are all the same size. I know that is probably what you meant and I hope I didn't confuse anyone else.

You are correct. That is what I meant.

The pre-'94 Fox is .75" narrower per side if memory serves.
