hey everyone, i ran into a problem while installing the rear calipers on the axle housing..the rotor doesnt seem to "sit" onto the axle shaft...by that i mean that the caliper is pulling the rotor off the axle shaft and it doesnt seem right..do i have to grind down the antimoan bracket and the calipers for the rotor to sit flush with the axle shaft?.. this is what i have:

90 GT 8.8 rear housing, 5 lug axles from a ranger, anti-moan brackets, 97 calipers, caliper brackets, and rotors

thanks! i have uploaded pics to reference what im talking about!

I there's basically two things you can do:

Modify your existing brackets and flip them side to side (put the left on the right and the right on the left) like so:

--or--

Go to North Racecars Brake Solutions and get a set of their conversion brackets.

Would I have to grind the brackets? I have read almost all the DIY instructions for rear disc brake and they said I can use sn95 brackets or north racecar's brackets

The way I understand it, you CAN reuse the brackets but yes. They have to be ground down. Gimme a few minutes and I'll upload a better set of pics to guide you. Just gotta figure out what I've done with them. hehe

The sn95 brackets need to be modified as shown and mounted to the InSIDE of the axle flange. That's your only option other than the north race car brackets.

If you want to run the brackets as you have already, you'll need 94-98 sn95 axles.

This should help you with what to do with the OEM brackets when fitting them to your Fox:

This is the LEFT bracket. Installed on the RIGHT side of the car, INBOARD of the hub.

Sure thing... I can't really take credit though. This set of pics are a set that I found when I was researching the same thing you're doing.

Come back and let us know how it turns out!

One or the other...not both.

Molding the brackets allows better wheel selection IMHO

This is why I got the North Race Car brackets. Though I am also running cobra brakes with stock length axles.
