5 Lug Done & New Wheels (pics)

Just thought I'd share a couple picks of my new wheels. They are a really snug fit, but hopefully the Nitto DRs will help get me closer to the 12s! I was at 13.2 with a NA engine, stock suspension, and 245 street tires. I also added torque box reinforcements while I was at it. Just waiting on the new stainless braided front brake lines before heading back to the track!

DAYUMN, thats so f'ing mean and agressive, if the nitto dr's lasted as long as street tires I would get them just because they look so damn beautiful, x100

17x9s all around
245/45/17 Nitto 555s up front
15/35/17 555Rs in the rear
95 front spindles with stock 11 inch rotors & calipers painted black
Ranger/Aerostar axles & drums

The rear end was a piece of cake, rolled the fenders (but probably didn't "need" to), beat the inners a bit, and removed the quad shocks. The front was a bit harder since i had to do it without air tools, but overall was not bad at all.

Yup, hopefully the 555Rs will last the summer, then I probably get some 275 555s for the winter. With the rain in OR I'll definately need to swap them.

I have 275/40/17 nitto 555's on my car, their good tires, I managed to get a 2.0 60' with them half way bald. They are bald right now, literally, I cant even feel a bump in the treads, they do good in the rain, but mine are so bald I actually spun out today in the rain, for the first time in my life, did a complete 180 in the middle of traffic, all 4 tires lost traction so i was in a complete free slide, had no control, no cars around so i did remain calm, but lucky i stayed on the road.

How did you put a 315 tire on a 9 inch rim?

the previous owner cut the rear bumper and had bad chrome tips sticking out on the stock exhaust. I switched it to a flowmaster cat back and plan on replacing both the front & rear bumbers as money allows. Bodywork & suspension are next on my list.

The Nittos run a littl narrow, so they fit on the 9 inch fine. I don't think I'd be able to do it wan any other tire though. BFGs probably wouldn't fit.

Do you know the backspacing on your rims? I will be running a 9" wide front tire with a 95 GT front set up and I believe it has a 24mm offset. I am almost positive it will work as I have seen it before, but just making sure.

They are a 24mm offset and I believe the backspacing is about 6".

Car looks good with the black on black set-up. Nice choice with the 315's too.
