5 lug swap is done...WAY to much postive camber..

So I got the SN-95 5-lug swap done yestersday and the tops of both front wheels are sticking out ...Now I know this is positive camber..I already tried to move the stock camber plates and they did not move far enough to get me at zero camber..Is CC plates my only option ??

I followed everybodys websites and all...the setup is all from a '94 GT and it all bolted up no problem.

It just the common swap so I don't see how anything could be wrong ?

i thought CC plates were a necessity for a fox with sn95 front conversion.

as soon as i finished my 5-lug swap i brought my car to get the alignment done both wheels were sticking out we adjusted them ourself but they werent perfect that might be your problem.

I went with bullits like you did ...

I got the stock camber plates adjusted all the way toward the middle of the car and the top of the wheels are still sticking out a little bit..

What I'm gonna do is take the struts our and use a drill to make the mounting holes longer so I'll have more adjustment

What kind of springs do you have? Do you have the isolators on them? Both of these will affect the ride height and also the camber of the wheels. I just did my A arm bushings, and replace the isolators. Well it made the car look the same as yours! i took out the isolators and the shop was able to get it aligned right on. And it lowered the car a bit too!

CC plates would be a definite benefit, and I plan to do them soon, since my caster is off causing some pull.

When I did my SN95 conversion first, I got it right on the exact specs with the camber using the stock springs and 95 spindles and Bullitt struts.

Wierd. I did the sn95 swap and had no problems at all. The car was toed in too much and I had to get that straight, but that's it. Did you reuse your fox control arms? Are you sure you used 94-95 spindles and not 96 up? The 96 up spindles will make the tires stick out farther.

I reused my stock fox control arms...

I'm sure the spindles cam off a '94...I got all the part from a '94 GT, it had a 5.0 in it and I even found the the 1994 owners manual in the glove box and I checked the build date on the door and it was 11/93...

save yourself some aggravation and get some CC plates, I got mine from JDM for $152 bucks shipped, the stock CC plates didnt give me enought adjustment after my swap, but i used tokico struts and FMS B springs

Yeah, Get some plates on there and take it to an aignment shop to get it trued up. I got plates, but didn't need them. I can't tell much difference with plates on there. I've got stock springs and KYB struts.

I put FMS C springs in as well and I reused he stock struts...

I'm getting a set of MM cc plates today off my buddy for $25...

As I said earlier, this is an odd problem. So many people do this swap and have no camber issues (myself included) that I can't help but think you might have done something wrong. The thing is, I can't imagine what you could've done. It all bolts right up. Bottom line...you're going to want CCplates with the lowering springs anyway. The caster change that plates allow will help handling as well. You can't go wrong with plates. If they don't fix your problem, you'll still be glad you've got 'em. I think they will fix your problem, though.

I posted this over at Corral as well and it seems that a few people over there has this positive casmber issue as well...

Its pretty much a basic spindle swap with the addition of the washers and screwing out the tie rod ends...I did 2 other 5 lug swaps on other foxes I've had...no problem whatsoever...

I'm gonna try the CC plates today and see how that goes..I did a mock up with the plates last night and it looks like there gonna give me a lot more adjustment...

I'll report back with my findings later

Investigate the comment about the isolators that the other fellow posted....I've read other posts where the problem/solution had to do with that component.

I never put the isolators on the new springs...Well my old stock srings didnt have them anyway way

Does the SN95 swap allow the e-brake to remain functional???????

tmoss, I kept the drums in back and swapped in Ranger axles and drums, so my rear functions exactly as it did before. My fronts are 94 calipers on 94 spindles and hubs. There are several methods of swapping in rear discs and keeping a functional hand brake too. Each method is a little different. That Matt guy has a very informational site, if you're weighing your options.
