NEVER go to Rippy Lube. My wife went to one in wichita a cpl years ago and they charged her 60$ for a fuel filter and 55$ for an air filter plus oil change came to a total of 170$. boy did we have a fight that night. Went back to walmart for the good ol 23$ oil changes.

This has come up before. There's a TSB out about the dip sticks in our cars. They don't read accurately. I can't find where the TSB is. I just change my own oil. i put in about 5 and quarts. Pearl02.

Go by the owners manual. Open it up and I garuntee you it will say 6 quarts for your 02... id put another quart in there if I were you...

I just changed mine today and put just over 5 quarts. I dump a little bit extra in case any of the bottles were under-filled... yes, im slightly anal about it. Reads perfect on the dip stick though. 99/00 use 5 quarts as stated though, even in the owners manual.

I worked at jiffy lube..it sucks- i don't know about where you live, but i can pretty much promise you beyond a doubt- 99 percent of jiffy lube are scammers.
If you don't want to get scammed there, heres what you do. You order the cheapest oil change, and WATCH when they work on your car my friends. We had (and i have friends who work at 4 jiffy lubes around me) so much business, that we ran out of filters, so we reach in the trash can, and install filters from there. They don't leave the filters on there because it may be marked, so they slap used ones on there and clean it up. On more than one occasion, if a customer pissed the boss off, or they argued over the price, they'd go to the bay, and drain the used oil from the containers, and pour it into the crank case.

If you order synthetic, i'd like to say about 20 percent of the time- your not getting it. Atleast once every 2 weeks we ran out of synthetic, and they go out back and use bottled regular so it looks special.

really- i dont wanna type it all, the list goes on and on. I dont know how it is where you live, but in metro Atlanta- i know myself of 4 Jiffy lubes (thats ALL the jiffy lubes i know) are scam artists

Jiffy lube hires idiots. I was 16 or 17 in my senior year of highschool when i worked there. No drug tests or anything. half the time- the employees are doing pot or even cocaine in the pits when business dies down.

Mine takes just under 6.5 quarts to the max full mark.
Why do some take 5 some 6 and some more than 6? Their all the same engines.

6 quarts of Motorcraft here.
I have no use for the added cost of synthetic.
I drive the car less than 2,000 miles a year.

Doesn't surprise me a bit, I used to live in an apartment complex, and there was a guy who lived in it also who had a corddless phone and worked at jiffy lube. He was under house arrest and was living with his mom. I was able to pick up on his phone conversations on my scanner. was pretty good entertainment, all he did was talk on thephone and he had some pretty scarey stories bout jiffy lube.

I always used 5.5 qts with a filter change.
Right in the center of the dipstick.
