I want to get 5 point harnesses my question is with out a cage in the car how will the belts mount ? Do they mount to the floor if so are there different types depending on were you mount them?

You should be able to mount them to the rear seatbelt bolts. That's how I ran mine in a previous car I had.

Bad move. The shoulder mounts should never been more than a few inches below your shoulder.

I think, without a cage, a harness is not a good idea. It's a safety thing.

The stock belt allows you to move some - so you potentially sustain less injuries in the event of an accident. With a harness and no cage for extra protection, you would be securely held while the roof can still cave or the sides still be crushed.

Yea there is no race legal way to mount anything more than a 4 pt harness w/o a cage. No road racing or drag racing sanctioning body will alow it. Just exactly for the reason mentioned earlier. You need to be able to move somewhat if you dont have a cage protecting you. If you really want a harness without a cage then just get a four point. Submarining is not a huge problem at the track for a street car anyways (since they dont run chutes and stuff) so just get a 4pt. The 4 pts are DOT legal and dont require a cage. Or sparco makes a harness bar that you can use for a 5pt harness but its 500 bux so you may just be better off getting a cage at that.
