No problem fellas. I just wanted to make sure we are all happy and comfortable with the Stang. This is my 3rd Stang and 7th Ford. Over the years the lame and embassarring things I have been told would boggle the mind. Remember, I am a woman, therefore, my breasts preclude my ability to know anything about cars.
Best to date was the exhaust baffle rattle in the 05s AOD at about 850 RPM when cold. Took it to the dealer 3 times. One service tech told me it was "Normal" -
- I said "Not unless this is a 900HP NASCAR."
Another guy actually stuck his head inside the car while it was happening and told me "Sounds like your heater blower." - "No, the climate control is OFF! "It is somewhere by the bell housing or CATS."
LOL... It took 'afixer' finally sending me the TSB to prove it was an issue. I called my service tech, gave him the TSB# and advised him that was his "....light-reading for the day. Call me when you get the parts in."
Ohhhhh, the fun of it. I learned over the years, you either have to become a engineer/mechanic to research the problem and be able to self-diagnose your car, or you need a good shop to assist you in the event your dealership's service department is lame. I have a two-fold strategy and have accomplished both. I pretty much go into the dealership and tell them the EXACT problem and how to fix it! LOL Yeah! They hate me. But I am considered a VIP now; they get right on the job, do what I ask and provide a free rental car everytime.
I think they have my picture on the wall somewhere.
Glad the little rehash disertation on the AT helped. Take care fellas and have a safe Stang-filled weekend.

EDIT P.S. @ Power Surge> In a heartbeat, Sir. SCHWING. Oh! the hours of shop tinkering would be splendid.

Don't we all? Well, enjoy the tinkering.
