Hi Mustangers,

I had a full day to work on the Vert. I fixed a few things and found some problems, here is the run down.

I learned that resetting a 52 air bag code does not clear out the 82 code. After I cleared the 52, the 82 showed up. I decided to clear again and it went away. I guess all the codes don't clear at once.

The A/C blower controls are fixed, thank you Stangnet. The vacuum conection, to the tank, was off. Easy fix. When i was under there, I noticed the duct connecting the center outlet was not sealed to well to the blower so I redid it. Man, you should have seen the Texas dirt that flew out with the blower on high!

By the way, a Mach 460 set up, from a '99 Mustang works in our cars. The cassett is a little different and it has another clock.

I thought I might have motor mount problems and I did. What a pain but they are new now. The tranny mount was shot too.

I thought I had a throw out bearing problem but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The bearing was bad for sure but it probably went bad because the guide tube had broke off the front of the tranny. The tranny left upper ear is broke off, probably due to the motor mounts.

Speaking of T-5s, what isdifferent about the 94-95 T-5s? Ford lists the bearing retainer I need, M-7050-B, for 94-95 and the -A for 83-93. Anyone know what else is different? Keeping to the low $ plan, I will probably fixing the retainer and put the tranny back in. That is, unless I can get a replacement for under $500.

Clutch was bad so I replaced it.

The car still has original struts and shocks after 205,800 miles. I have new ones but I'm on hold till I figure what springs I want.

The starter noise was because the PO did not install the upper starter bolt, sheesh!

It's a wonder I passed CA smog. The converter noise, on the drivers side, was because all the cat material, from the first converter, was down in the second converter. The cats are toast and I need a replacement. I see some companies offer a 49 state system and I suppose that means not CA. Anyway, If you have a good recommendation, speak up. Here in the "sticks" we only smog once when the car comes in. No other smog is required.

I decided to keep the 15" wheels. I can't afford another $450 to replace them. I did put some Falkens on the car. They looked Ok till the #@$!% Big O guy cleaned my wheels with brake cleaner. Most of it rubbed out but on one wheel, the clear coat is gone.

I picked up a new compressor, clutch and reciever from E-bay. I need a liquid line and then I should have the A/C up. It looks like the PO cut the reciver lines when he did the heater core. Or, the engine vibration cold worked the lines and they broke on thier own. I can recharge the system myself when it's intact.

Well, thats a bit of progress for a days work!

sounds like your making some good progress! you'll definatly have to post pictures when you're all done! and also a final cost.

I know i passed smog with my bbk x-pipe with cats. I'm pretty sure it has a carb number too.

Eric, the 94-95 bearing retainer should be longer than a fox retainer (the input shaft is longer than a fox input shaft).

Good to know. I also found out the input gear is 22 tooth for 94-95.
