620 springs...

it depends on your spring perches.

if they are stock, the spring perch "tab" sits inboard, as in near the engine, and the "tail" of the spring goes across the perch and butts up against it.

On my GW UCAs, the perch is mounted 180 deg opposite, but the spring seats the same way.

what type of shocks are you going to use ? I just put 5 leaf mid-eyes in the rear and the 620's up front and have no weight transfer. have some kyb shocks in now.
Any comments welcome

Ive noticed that many people who race these cars use el cheapo shocks in the rear, weight transfer being the reason for that. Of course 620's dont have the preload that the longer softer springs have so Im quite sure thats part of the problem. Myself Im a fan of using a softer spring, something in the 500# range and dialing in the handling with sway bars and shocks, that way ride doesnt suffer so much but the car will still turn. I think 620's with firm shocks turn these cars in to teeth rattlers, or for some tooth rattlers.... :D Of course if youre building a car for the track, ride doesnt matter.

I have edelbrock IAS shocks in the rear. Im not sure what I will use in the front. This car is a driver that will only see a trip to the track once or twice to see what it will do, after that, just a driver/show-er.

I'm also a fan of softer springs for street and/or mixed use. The springs in the picture are 520#, with Cure-ride shocks. Of course, aluminum heads, h2o pump, fiber hood, relocated battery all reduce the need for stiff springs as well. ;) Plus, freely rotating suspension components don't add artificially to the spring rate (perches, strut rods, control arms, etc...)
Running Magnagas shocks on the rear with HD 4-leafs.

Edelbrocks on all 4 corners aren't a bad way to go at all!!! :nice:
