I've got a quick question for everyone here. During his college years, my dad worked at a Ford dealership. He saved this light from a bin of parts to be tossed, and held on to it for a project 'stang that never materialized. Since then, he has given the light to me. Hopefully it becomes a part of my future Mustang. In the mean time, I was wondering if anyone had any information on it. He's not sure that its an actual Ford/Autolite part. Is this a rare/authentic part? Neither of us has ever seen one on the road. Does this thing have any value?

TIA.

What you have is a real Ford/Autolite part. It is "one of a myriad of dealer-installed options" according to Mustang: Fourty Years. Apparently, it would light up when you turn on the headlights. I would hold onto it or sell it for some reasonable dough if you don't like the looks of it. Reguardless, I think it is a rather unique piece.
