I've been trying to find an OEM plain painted steel alternator bracket set for a 289/302 engine from 65-69. I have found chrome plated kits, but I am slowly gathering parts for a street rod project and I don't want chrome.

From what I can tell there are 4 parts to the set. 2 bracket piece, along bolt and a spacer. Does anyone know where I could get these 4 parts for very little $$?

Here are the 2 main parts in chrome from the Mustangs Unlimited website. There is also a long bolt and a spacer tube. I can make the spacer tube and buy a longer bolt at the hardware, but these two brackets in plain/painted steel are what I want to find.

Just asking, what's wrong with buying a chrome set and painting them or powder coating them? I mean it's almost impossible to find the stock/non chrome ones and you would have to paint or powder coat them too so what's the difference?
Otherwise check for junk yards online. There are a bunch that are online and some are Mustang only junk yards; although those will be more expensive.
Here's what I could find:

I am realy confused now. Never mind i dont want to know.

It's simple really. I am going to be building a 302 powered street rod and I want to run the alternator and alternator bracket from a 65/69 V8 Mustang because it is clean looking and low. But it's going to be a rat rod kind of thing and that means no chrome. Plus I don't like a lot of chrome on cars.

I was havin trouble finding the parts I'm looking for cause they are kinda obscure and not a popular parts to find, so I came here figureing you guys could maybe point me in the right direction to find what I need.

Impossiblle? You just don't know where to look for this stuff. :D Or ask the right people. There are tons of these parts out there, just takes a little effort to find them. :nice:
