65 brake booster/master cylinder

My neighbor has a 65 vert with 4 drums and a single circuit master cylinder. He is upgrading to discs in the front and wants to get a dual cylinder with a brake booster but was told to do so he would have to cut into his shock tower. is there any aftermarket kits that would allow him to do this without cutting his shock tower?

From what I understand, a stock MC from a 69/70 stang will fit with no mods needed other than brake line changes. It'll be a tight fit, and he may end up needing to bolt the MC to the booster 1st then bolt then bolt the booster to the firewall.

Is he upgrading from manual to power brakes? If so, there is more than the booster to consider. He'll also have to swap to a power brake pedal. If he already has the booster he shouldn't need to buy a new one.

yes, he is going from a single cylinder non-power 4 drum setup to a 2 disk. He wants to upgrade to 2 cylinder/booster setup. I think he has decided to just stick with the non-booster setup, he'll just have to press a little harder on the brake.

The brake pedal on 65-66 cars is the same for power and non power. Tell him to check out Mustang Steve's website for a booster with dual m.c. that fits the early stangs.

They now sell the Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. Units

I bought mine 5 years ago, and am not sure who makes it:



It bolted in, but did require some line rerouting and I added a combination valve.

NOTE: For automatic cars only...

If he is running a stick, he is pretty much S.O.L. for an easy swap.
