I have a c-4 mated to a 351w in my 65 coupe and first and second work fine but I cant shift directly into either on my shifter, just park, reverse, neutral, and drive. Anyone know why this could be?

Button not working right on shifter or linkage adjustment is way off or hitting something. Diconnect the linkage to see if the shifter then goes into 1st and second, if so then look at the linkage.
