i have posted prior concerning proposed upgrades to my 64-1/2 6 cylinder convertible which i recently inherited.
i recently became aware of possible structural integrity concerns that i might have to address before i go any further.

the car has 90k original miles, was always garaged and cared for and looks great from 10 feet away.
that said it did live its life in the northeast area.
unfortunately when we examined it underneath and looked closer we saw evidence of "Swiss cheese like shoemaker patch work" in various places.

its really hard to gauge its structural integrity, so far there does not appear to be any sagging in the doors. it is not my intention to do a full restoration or sink a huge amount of money into it, however the car must be safe for driving even if only for a summer/weekend driver.

are there any crucial points to check or simply modify to insure the car is safe without getting into huge money.

thanks
