Greetings all!
Background details:
My 65 GT vert has the T-10 manual transmission. I've started hearing a "clunk" sound when I engage the clutch after shifting.
My diagnosis:
I'm thinking that maybe it's a u-joint/slip yoke issue. I did the "grab the u-joint and push up/down and left/right" test - it's tight and no obvious signs of wear. But if I grab the drive shaft and rotate forward/backward, there is some amount of "play" before contact is made and the rear wheels start to turn.
My question:
How much "play" like this is too much? Can this be the source of my clunk? If so, what's the fix? If not, what else should I look for?
Muchas gracias,
-Bob-
