Noise coming from rear when driving… sounds in rotation of the tires going round. Put these newer drum brakes on but see wear only at top and bottom of the rear shoes. Maybe my noise. I don’t see anything rubbing or making marks anywhere

Any other rear axle work done recently?
I ask this knowing the age of these classic 8 & 9" axle housings, old oil, worn bearings/ races or even some aftermarket gear sets have been known to 'howl' like a stray cat in heat. Usually either on acceleration or deceleration (gear sets, bearings/races howl louder the faster you go, in my experience anyway, maybe the other way around?)
Anyway I'll move this to the Classic forums. Well, because that's where it belongs, I'm a Fox Body (or is it Foxbody?) and nobody pays any attention to me anyway

Those don't even look broke in.

You need to do some fast, firm, but non-panic stops from about 60 MPH to 15 MPH.

Rinse and repeat as you drive around.

Re-adjust after that. With the rear off the ground, the wheels should drag slightly.

Adjusting now would be essentially useless until those shoes take the shape of the drum.
