This may be a stupid question, but did all 65 mustangs come with a windshield washer bag? Mine does not have one, and when I went to put one in, I noticed that the screw holes were not even there. Was this only available with certain packages?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Is it possible that your inner fender was replaced and that when this was done the bag was not replaced. To my knowledge they would have had a washer bag. Alot of the bags deteriorated and leaked then were not replaced because they caused rust in the immediate area. Therefore no holes were drilled for the bracket to mount the bag?

That sounds like a very reasonable and possible situation to me

The car does not appear to have ever been wrecked. The inner fender looks good, and still has the VIN stamped on it. Wouldn't a replacement not have the VIN stamping?

I am pretty sure it was an option. Look for signs of one being there before. Does the car have the washer pump? How about the tubing, or wire harness for the pump, or the washer jets, mounted on the top portion of the firewall, going through the cowl area.

65-67 Stangs had a windshield washer bag. In late 67 and on, they used a plastic bottle.

Windshield washer units were definately an option in 1965. Hence, if your fenders don't have the mounting holes then your car probably wasn't ordered with that option !!!
