so my car has factory power steering and i hate it. not only does it leak but its all sloppy. i have replaced most of the bushings and i still hate it. what kind of options do i have as far as either tightening up the power setup or converting it to manual. also this car is street driven but i dont think i'll mind manual steering as the car has alot of other not street friendly things. any ideas are appreciated

Only things you need to convert to manual are a manual drag link and pitman arm. I did this with my 77 Comet's steering (same setup as a Mustang) I got the parts from Autozone. "Rareparts" is the vendor. As for teh sloppy part, you may need to change the rest of the steering parts too, including the gear box.

you can tighten the gear box, but most people i know dont reccommend it.
as far as the manual conversion goes, i used an adapter from mustangsunlimited and it worked very well, so thats an option if the rest of your components are in good shape
