All of my gauges suddenly stopped working. Well i say all, the amp gauge sits in the middle all the time so im not sure if its working or not. I does seem to dip a little when i start it up.

All the rest are pegged to the left. I pulled my instrument panel and looked around. The voltage regulator seems to be corroded. I checked the conductivity from one post to the other and it showed nothing. Therefore there is no flow from one side to the other. Should there be a flow? If this is bad can i pick one up at a local parts store? Which ones?

Secondly, my fuel gauge never went past half full when it was working. It would get close to half right after i topped off my tank. It is pegged far to the left. Any ideas on fixing this? Maybe i should bend the needle back to the right, as I did repaint the needle and may have bent it to the left.

Last, the temperature gauge (when it worked) used to go from cool to hot right when i turned on the engine. Does the gauge sweep the full distance and go back to its cool resting place on the left? Or do i have a problem there also? It never stays on hot it just sweeps over there and back. It even does it when its cold.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you need to replace the instrument VR that is located on the rear of the dash gauge panel. It's malfunction affects all the gauges (except the ampmeter.)
