66 GT Coupe Engine block casting

Hello

My 66 289 has a date code of 5K11 (Oct 11th 1965)
My Buck tag has a build date code of 5K16 (Oct 16th 1965)
Original Build Sheet has a "sched. date" of 04K
No door tag

Can anyone tell me if my block could be numbers matching or is the block date to close to the buck tag build date????

Where did you get an original build sheet from on a 66?

There's a 99.9% chance the block is original to your car.

There's one hidden in every car. Just got to find it and hope it's survived the elements. I found the one in my 68 Merc Monterey.Think it was inside the door. I've found others hidden in the dash

Runaway, The previous owner of the car said it was found under the dash on my car. Thankfully, she took care of the sheet and gave it to me when I bought the car.

You will find the VIN on the back of the left cylinder bank. This is where I found it on my 351W, and I'm pretty sure all Windsor series engines have the VIN stamped there.

Note that the 02H part of the code is left out.

I believe the build stamps/casting on the engine block didn't start until '67 EXCEPT for K codes/shellbys.
