my 66 mustang V6 just started to overheat..I will travel about 10 minutes and watch my temp gauge go all the way to hot. I am told it may be the following:
Theromostat stuck open
Raditor Cap
Radiator
Water pump

I dont know too much about cars in the regard to figure out the issue. This is an experienced board so i am asking for help.

Should i just but a new raditor cap see if that fixes it?

I noticed the raditor has cracks on it and needs to be replaced. The overflow tube leaks raditor fluid regularly. It will smoke heavily after 10-20 minutes of driving.

Additionally the overflow tube sits straight flush with ground horizontally is that correct?
Any help ?
