Does anyone have any advice on installing a new fuel line in a 66 coupe with the V8? I bought a pre-bent stainless line from Virginia Classic Mustang. I do not have the old fuel line, so I don't know where to route the new one. Does it go over the transmission? Can you see it from inside the engine bay? Does it go over or under the parking brake line? I looked at Ford diagrams, but they are too small to see any detail. Some pics would be good. Thanks, Carl

At the tank the line heads over to the driver's side frame. It goes forward on the frame about 6" and then follows the rear floor pan to the driveshaft tunnel. It will be under the parking brake cable. It stays in the tunnel, clamped parallel to the brake lines until it gets to the area of the tranny, It also will take the same 90 degree bend (down??) as the brake lines.
Shortly after it separates from the brake line and stays along the inner part of the front frame rail, just an inch or so from the bottom of the rail. This is probably the area that the manufacturer of your fuel line bent it 180 degrees in order to put it in the box. Just straighten before you try to install. Check out the rest of the routing first (below.)
Where the framerail starts to go up, and narrows (near the steering box) it crosses under the frame into the outer wheel well area (about a 3" section) and then follows driver's frame under the shock tower until it gets in front of the shock tower. There it goes up and through one of the holes of the fender apron, just forward of the fuel pump.

I would say installing new fuel line is about a 1.4. Took me about an hour but it wasn't stainless so I could bend it a little easier to get it where I wanted it. I'm going to go back and redo mine with bigger line this winter and if I do something twice, I to damn lazy to, then if must be easy!!
I need bigger line for more fuel quanity. My fuel pump is 3/8 also and I want to have braided line everywhere instead of rubber hose connecting things. Sorry I don't have any pics but I cut my line up taking it out and I just figured out where it need to go back. If you look at it for awhile I think you'll figure it out. Just straighten it out and lay it beside the car an imagine....
