Thanks Guys .... I would have a very big lawn ornament if it where not for all your help.

This is going to be hard to explain .... Here goes.

I bought a new (rebuilt) carb for my 67 6cyl motor. The guy told me the engine was a 200 and needed a 1v carb. But it's not the same. The one on the car has a 1" coolant line that goes into the bottom of the carb and then comes out the other side and into the firewall (Heater Core). It also has a 3/4" line going into the bottom of the carb coming from the valve cover. The new one has none of this and is wider and shorter.

Was there more than one 67 6cyl engine? Does anyone have a photo of there 6cyl showing the carb setup?

I cannot thank you enough, I will help paint your house :-)

what you have done is removed the carb adaptor and the carb together. it can be done but if hard to do, i know, i tried once. the adaptor bolts to the intake, the carb bolts to the adaptor.

Thanks rbohm...

I haven't removed the old one yet because I noticed the big difference in the two. What about the physical size and shape difference. The new one is auto choke and the old one is manual choke, but not just that they look sooo different, the fuel reservoir is smaller the actual size and shape are way different, the fuel on the old one goes in the front but the new one is on the side. Maybe I just need to take a closer look tonight after work.

Come on day, I can't wait to get outa here.

well if your going for a stock look, they probably sold u the wrong carb. happens all the time. Maybe you could take it back and just rebuild your carb or look for a reputable mustang parts house to buy the new carb from. im sure the new one will work, but if it bothers you that its not correct, u can go elseware.
