Man that cluster makes mine look Ghetto...wow thast the 2nd time tonite Ive used that word.

I wish I would have done a little more research on gauge sizes. I used 2-1/6 inch for the small ones and which ever is one step down from the 5 inchers for the speedo and tach.

Crappy picture I know but you can see it would look a little better if at least speedo and tach were bigger.

Like the other brand out there, the bezel is a reproduction unit that I modify to fit the gauges. It is a top-quality reproduction, and on the '67 deluxe the overlay is real brushed aluminum with laser-etched "WIPER" and "BRAKES", not a mylar decal.

The housing itself is a highly modified original, which is then blasted and powder coated, as you can see in the photo above.

Dont know much about you reenmachine.

looks great reen alot like the way i did mine and actually i saw a jme unit wasnt impressed in there quality
and not to hurt anyone but where is everyone getting there gagues from i only paid like 360 for mine (were black sport comp though)

Actually, after the purchase price of the gauges, the core housing, a show-quality bezel, the wiring supplies, powdercoating, etc. it adds up quickly. That doesn't take into account the time it takes to do it all, plasma cutter use, welder consumables, and all of the other nickel-and-dime stuff. I'm pricing standard bezel with mechanical speedo at $999. The electronic speedo (for electronic sending unit/computer) adds $100 and the '67 deluxe brushed aluminum bezel adds $100. That still compares favorably with what's out there, and I can have it to you in <30 days.

Yep. At first I thought the prices out there were crazy, until I actually added it up myself. The gauges and bezel alone are expensive, then you add the core unit, wiring, powder coating, and a lot of labor to make a bullet-proof product I'd put my name on and you can see how it gets up there quickly .

Not that it's not worthwhile, but you can see that I'm not getting rich off of these.

The guage prices alone are a bulk of the price.

I looked it up a few years ago when foggy made his.

I would be way to ancy about cutting into a new deluxe bezel. Let alone getting the guages onto it.

I might hit you up in a year or so when I have the disposable income for it.

Who makes the best bezels? It sounds like there are some really nice ones like ReEN is using, and some total crap. Which is which? Who sells what?

The bezels from JME/Metalworks are the nicest. The Ford replacement and the reproduction that has been around for awhile are crappy.

what about selling just the modified housings/bezels to the people who havent yet made up their minds on what gauges, etc to go with?

The gauges themselves have to be modified to fit into the cluster, and it's kind of a delicate procedure. Plus, I wouldn't be able to guarantee that it would work with all types of gauges. If I make the whole thing here, I know it fits, works, and is wired correctly to plug into your car.

I'm also offering it without the wiring harness for $50 less if you want to wire it up yourself, and I'll give you $25 for your core cluster as well (with old harness attached). So, there's a way for the semi-DIY type to save $75.

I've had one for a long time. That's what I'm doing, but the aftermarket parts business is so competitive, especially online, that my wholesale for these gauges isn't much less than what you can find the gauges for from Summit or a similar site since they're so huge. They get massive discounts from Auto Meter that we little guys can't get, so they can retail stuff for only slightly more than we can get it for.
