Does the welded (solid) end go toward the front or back? The front yoke and u-joints were removed years ago and I can't remember which end is front or rear. It's the two-piece variety- one end welded solid, the other end is "open". Thank you in advance for clarification.

The open end goes to the rear.

OK, thanks. I thought it went that way as both the front yoke and solid end have a lot more grease and grime than the open end so they looked like they had been together in the past. I appreciate the response.
