So if you own a 67, you've probably heard that the use different motor mounts than the other years....but chances are you cant find them. I had the same problem. First time I put my motor in, it took 3 guys, and it took me and one other guy to change one of them out after they broke in like 4 months. They broke because there is too much tension using a 66 or 68 mount. The reason this is, is the spacing between the motor and the mount pad (where you bolt the mount to the car) is a smaller distance. So...as they say third time is a charm.
The third time I messed with motor mounts, I was not standing on top of the motor while other people pry and try to get them in place....waste of time and energy.
What I did was drill 2 3/4" holes through them. I put a good grade 8 bolt through them with a lock washer and a grade 8 nut. We tightened those jokers down til we coulnt anymore.
Then we put them on the motor....dropped the motor in, and now they were a lil too short and not reaching the mounting holes, but this was an easy fix. I just dove under the car with a wrench un slightly unscrewed them til all the holes lined up and voila.
Basically, the 66 and 68 mounts have too much rubber between the metal pieces.
Hope that helps some people! and no I dont have pictures as I did this over a year ago.
