'67 Mustang garaged for 10 years, simple fixes to see if it starts?

hi there - i was hoping to get guidance on simple fixes to see if my garaged 1967 Mustang will start again? The beauty has been sitting for over 10 years without having any of the fluids drained before hand. Is there anything I can do, simple fixes to see if the mustang will start again? I would appreciate any guidance on this since I have little experience with fixing cars. Thanks.

You will want to drain the fuel as it will definitely have lacquered up. It would also be well advised to either buy or make an engine pre-oiler with an old distributor. And before anything, make sure you can turn the engine over by hand with a socket and breaker bar on the cank pulley.

You may need a new gas tank. Mine sat for about 10 years in the garage and it had a new tank a couple years before that. When I got it all back in running condition again, the fuel tank was rusted out on the inside.

I would suggest the normal tune up parts and all new fluids and filters.

It is most likely going to need the carb rebuilt or replaced at this point.

Also, do what Krash Kendall said.

my old '67 sat for 12 years before i got it...after draining the gas it stated...kinda and after re-tuning the carb and playing with timing it ran fairly well....had a blown head gasket as it turns out, but thats another story

Mine sat in a barn for 10 years, and I did the same thing. Fluids and filters changed, new battery, air for tires, and a retune to the carb and it ran just fine.
