Hey fellow Forum readers. I'm sure there are threads on this but wanted to get a fresh response on upgrading the engine.
I just bought this lovely jewel and am looking to upgrade it. The car has a stock 68' 289 that was rebuilt back in 2004 and has about 30k miles on it. The tranny is a C4.
I'm thinking about installing the Edelbrock 2091 Top End Engine Kit Performer. This will be installed with the engine in the car.
While I do have some experience and the install looks fairly straight forward are there any words of advice I can get on do's, don'ts or go a different route? It appears the kit comes with everything needed except carb so I'm looking for advice on that as well. I'd love to put a Holly Sniper EFI kit on it but that's not in the budget. Should I replace the distributor at the same time as well?
At some point I may swap the tranny out for a stick but that's another discussion.
