67 Strut Rod Bushings

I read that I shouldnt change my strut rod bushings to poly.

But I thought I read here somewhere that you can put them on one side, and keep the rubber on the other side.

Im wondering which side to put them on, in front or on the rear side of the strut . I have a brand new set and id like to use them, but dont want to chance a broken strut rod.

Seems to me I should leave the rubber ones on in the back because thats takes more stress?

Anybody do this?

The front bushing takes most of the load under braking. You can leave a rubber bushing in the rear and put a poly up front. That's what works better than two poly bushings. The deal with broken strut rods is that people make 'em too tight. The early cars have a stop so you can't overtighten them. With the 67-68 cars, it's up to the installer as to how tight to make them. Too loose is better than too tight from a safety standpoint. The rod end strut rods are the way to go from a performance standpoint. IMO.
