Got a few questions for the a/c guru's out in Stangnet land. After pulling a vacuum on the system to boil out any moisture, am I supposed to release the vacuum before I charge it up or leave the system under vacuum and then charge? I noticed that most of my air is blowing out of my floor heater discharge, no matter what selection I have my switch set at (max a/c, frest, defrost). Any ideas what would cause this?

Thanks,

Do not release the vacuum before charging. Think of it this way. To release the vacuum would pull air into the system. Air is made up of non condensable gasses and moisture. You don't want either of these in your ac system.

exactly right. also you want the vacuum in the system to help in pulling the refrigerant from the can. one more thing you always want to install the refrigerant through the low side of the system, NOT the high side.

Correct on the vacuum info. As far as the switch positions, I would guess you have a blend door not working. Check the actuating action on the A/C to see if the lever movement is actually doing anything.
