68 mustang Steering problem

Im looking for some ideas on how to fix my problem. The bracket the holds the slave cylinder in place pulled out of the frame. On the drivers side theres 2 bolts that go in from the underside and 1 from the inside of the frame. The 2 that go from the under side pulled out. The frame is solid I taped it with a hammer and its still strong. If you look in the pics you can see what im talking about.

I was thinking about just welding the bracket to the frame. Or maybe getting 2 bolts and weldings them into the frame.

Isn't a slave cylinder assocoiated with a hydrolic clutch? I welded one on a 72 Maveric before. Worked fine.

he's talking about the steering power piston on the tierod.

you can buy that frame piece and weld it in, your's doesn't look all that solid.

yep you pulled the riv-nuts out. looking at the frame i see some surface rust but that's about it. you can buy replacemnet riv-nuts from most of the stang parts supplies. welding it on is an option too, if you choose to go that route, i have also seen people cut a hole in the side of the frame rail just above that area and then weld some appropriately sized nuts in the correct spot too, if you go this way make sure you weld the holes you cut out back up or a weld a piece of plating on the outside to cover them up. this is actually pretty common especially on a car with headers that has the drop bracket for power cylinder.

just get the one that you use when you use headers, it drops the cylinder down a bit. just weld the top part to your frame
