Im looking at building an engine for my 94, and i have a '69 302 stock bore block that i can use. Im looking for 400fwhp with a 347 and maybe 600fwhp with nitrous. I know that at 450fwhp a 5.0 block is about done. I havent been able to find much info on the power handling of the older 302's. I know that a '69 351 block is one of the best factory 351 blocks because of the higher nickle content and slightly beefier casting.
The main webbing on the '69 302 doesnt seem to be much as a '74 351 which is still a one of the more desirable 351s.
Do yall think it would be up to the task?
btw i was planing on cleaned up gt40ps, a typhoon, CHP 347 kit, and probably the expensive hyd roller cam conversoin kit from comp cams
just like everyone else money is for sure an issue, if yall dont think it would hold ill just cough up the extra and do a 393 or 408w
Thanx
Zach
