You sure it was "429" and not "428"? The 69 Torinos didn't have a 429 engine option.

I was thinking the same thing. It's either a '70, or a '69 with owner-added badges (and 429)

Drove by again to get some vin numbers ,but nobody home. The only thing new to add is its not got the solid tail lights across the back.the tail lights are about a foot long.Went to the site that racer x posted and noticed that the tail lights on the 69 were solid across the back.Everything else looks like a 69 fastback with the smaller tail lights. Need to get the vin. thanks for the help.

I sure wish that I hadn't have sold my 69 I had in high school!!

Anyway, the rear tailights on the fastback are a somewhat square unit with a chrome piece in between. The 70-71's had a long skinny set-up of tail light, kind of like the cougars.

The 69 had the 428CJ option, in 70 they were optioned with the 429CJ. I have seen several 68-69's with 429 swaps.

Both are cool cars that were overshadowed by those dam MUSTANGS.lol
