i had a few posts about these 6G's earlier and got nothing. There use to be a guy on ebay that sold the entire 6G kit. Now he just sells the wiring kit, instructions, and everything else you need besides the alt. Which you can buy a 6G Alt from PA-Performance. I'm ordering all of this tomorrow because i like how you don't have to grind your bracket and its a 130 amp. Plus i need it for my electric fan..
The 6G alternators are 130 amps / 80 amps @ idle. The 6G alternator runs cooler/more stable and has less rotating mass (frees up HP) compared to Ford's previous models and the alternator does not require that the bracket to be modified which is my favorite part.
The kit he sells is $46.00. It includes:
4 gauge power wire with inline fuse holder and fuse
6G harness connector
All misc hardware and instructions
All parts, pieces, connector and hardware needed to install this kit are included.
All you need to do is buy a 6G Alt and your set.
I'm not sure if that is a good price or not but it seems a little high to me so i'm gonna try to jew him down a bit.
Well see the first one is a remanufactored unit = piece of ****. I work at my familys body shop and everything we put on remanufactor is junk.(Specially the starters). So i personally would stay away from those.
The second and third ones are cheap... and i didn't read about them but some of the cheap 6G alternators are made in china and they are crap alternators. You want to buy an American Made one. PA-Performance sells them for $248.00. Thats what i'm gonna purchase.

It was a little under $200 I believe and it's a direct bolt in (no shaving, grinding, or cutting anything. I ran it as a one-wire unit w/ a 4 gauge wire and a 130amp circuit breaker, which was around $30. Total, it was under $250, so you could save $50 and have. My particular one was tested at the factory to put out 95 amps at 2400 Dyno rpm and 143 amps at 6000 Dyno rpm.

Yeah the 6G's are a direct fit on the fox bodys. I think the alternators have gone up since those 4 years have passed ha but all i've seen so far is 248.99 for an american made product that isn't remanufactored.
