6x8s speakers bass cuts out over volume 5

I can't figure out why my 6x8 speakers bass cuts out over volume 5 any ideas?

You can still hear the treble just not the bass.

Could be a wattage problem. It takes more power to push bass then treble. Have you checked to make sure they are getting sufficient power, or that they have clean connections?

are your connections backwards? if you have the positive from the deck connected to negative on the speaker it will give poor bass response

Im using the mach 460 amps to drive 4 220 watt pioneer 6x8s.


200 amp alt connections are clean.

The Mach 460 amps just dont have the juice to push them then?

Or could it be a battery problem not sending power fast enough?

There has to be a problem with the mach 460 amps working with the aftermarket speakers. Do you know what impedance the mach 460 amps work at?

I was told mach 460 amps run at 8ohms.
The pioneer are 4ohms

its something whack like 1.73 or something other odd number. when modifying the mach system its best to just change everything.

If you run a speaker with lower impedance then the amp can handle you'll have problems with the sound. If you run a speaker with a higher impedance then the amplifier you'll just get less output. The solution would be ditch the mach 460 amps and run an aftermarket setup, or find some 8 ohm speakers.
