7.5" Axles fit in an 8.8" rear-end?

A friend of mine is doing a Ranger 302 swap. He's going to an 8.8" rear and he said I could have his 7.5" rear end out of his ranger if I just come and pick it up. Question is, will his 28 spline 5 lug axles fit in my 8.8" rear end for a 5 lug conversion?

one side will i cant remember which but someone on here will know

I think the right axle will work, or maybe its the left, lol. I am pretty sure its the right.
