7.5 e-brake cable work with an 8.8?

Yes, the easiest way to swap rears is to leave the brakes connected by the brake lines and ebrake cable, and unbolt them from the axle, and hang them from the fenderwell.

Then just swap the axle housings, and it all bolts back on. No brake bleeding, etc.

It's easy.... the brake line retainer clip on the 7.5 wont work on the 8.8. I've heard of a few people that had a prob with the distribution block for the brakes being on the wrong side of the mount that goes over the axle's vent. Mine worked fine though.

Yes the way the brake line bracket hooks to the axle vent is a little bit different. I just used the old vent from the 7.5 rear end. THey both just thread right in and out. Don't anybody worry about this situation:nice: :p

Wow, I didn't know that, I am glad I didn't have that one, or I would have had a couple more hours of work changing brake lines! What years were those?? My 7.5 was a 91 and my 8.8 was a 92...
