As time goes on, I seem to become more and more interested in the late first gen Mach 1s.

73, like most cars of the era, had a pretty big power decrease.

What are the other differences that I might now know of, or where can I find detailed information?

Transmission differences (if any), axle gearing differences, etc.

Where exactly is the crossover from the shaker/scoop hood to the twin snorkel hood?

Any and all information on these cars would be appreciated.

Thanks!

First of all. 1970 was a different body style then that of '71-'73. The Naca Hood(Twin Snorkel Hood) was used from '71-'73. If you want to see the differences between the years start by looking at a dataplate decoder sheet. This will show you alot of the options like engines, trannies, and gears. If I can get a link I will post it later. As for the power decrease, all you need to do is change the components and you will have youself a rockin machine. A member here used to have a 73 mach that ran 13.1 in the 1/4 and had potential to drop into the 12's and it was a daily driver at that.
