70 tank in a 69....any hidden probs?

i know this should be a simple bolt in but i have to ask ....will i encounter any probs with a 70 gas tank going into a 69?

That should work fine, they're basically the same body. Unless my memory has it wrong you can swap a 70 tank straight into a 66 for increased capacity - it just comes up into the trunk.

I know I did the swap in my 69 years ago and just ordered another 70 tank to replace the one I have. What I can't remember was if I had to replace the filler neck to compensate for the taller tank.

i didn't have to change the filler neck on mine, just bolts right in. kind of nice having an extra 2 gallons

I bolted a 70 tank in my 66 and used a 69 modified filler neck. You should have no problems Eric and your filler neck will probably work fine.

I put a 70 in my 67 and only had to do slight mods to get it to fit so there should be no problem putting one in a 69.
