i am going to go ahead a grab a 70 mm TB this christmas.

my combo now is
thumper e7s
tmoss lower with home portmatched upper.
B-cam advanced 4 degress with 1.7s
UD pullies.
CAI
73mm vortech (C&L) MAF
bbk unequal shorties
H-pipe and dynomax race bullets.

the tb is the only real engine bolt on i have left to do, then all i really have to do is forced induction which i dont currently have the funds for. so i am going to start some suspension work with SFCs and upper/lower control arms for the rear.

but anways, people say bigger TBs dont help at all on stock engines, but my combo isnt exactly stock so i am wondering if i should expect to notice a pick up in power. I was thinking it should go hand in hand with the 73mm MAF i have. i put that on a didnt notice a thing, which seems right bc the engine was still sucking thru the 58mm stock TB. so i am hoping i should noticed a decent gain or at least feel that the engine is breathing better.

what do u think.

70mm, no lower. I think 65mm are a waste of money, everyone regrets it some point down their combo. And you said forced induction down the line, 70mm.

thats what i figured, why waste the money on something only 7mm bigger, thats not much. i would rather have the bigger one that i can grow into and not have to trash it.

havent really ran it good.

i took it once with the new engine and it ran the same as b4 (low 14). i never did any tuning, timing and FP was off alot and it ran bad. i got the FP and timing dialed in and its running like a raped ape. i plan to toss a TB on, SFCs, and some rear controls and at least tackle low 13s, maybe high 12s.

just gotta see what happens.

65 0r 70mm would work, but go 70mm if you going to put a power adder on it later. You'll have to port the TB hole in the upper 3.5mm (3.5+3.5=7mm). It gets kinda skinny on the sealing surface, but if your careful it will seal fine 0 just use a THIN coat of RTV Ultrablack on the gasket.
