I have a a Cobra intake on my 87 mustang. Im thinking about getting a 70mm throttle body. Will i see a increase in power by doing this? I have the stock throttle body off my old intake on the cobra now.

When i put my Cobra intake on i put on a 70 mm throttle body. You will get an increase in throttle response, and notice some pickup in your top end with that setup. I like it, but after doing that i want bigger heads and injectors.

I'm not 100% sure the tb port on the 93 cobra manifold is 70mm (thought it was 65). If it is 70 or if you port match it you will notice a little difference. Also make sure to upgrade your mass air meter if you haven't already. The stock one is only 53mm.

my car is a 87, so its still speed density :-(. Im looking to get a mass air conversion kit. My uncles friend has a 9 second 93 notchback, he converted it to carbed 4 days after he got it. H ehad all the mass air stuff sitting in the garage and he threw it out. I was like aww crap....

If the manifold is the only mod, you're not exceeding the capacity of the stock throttle body yet - so it's unlikely the bigger throttle body will provide any significant improvement. It won't hurt anything - may make the pedal a bit more touchy in light throttle conditions. It will handle just about any additional mods you want to throw at it.

Im selling my accufab 65mm TB and egr cheap!! Lemme know if your interested. Im not a scammer. I actually just sent out the maf I sold to a dude on here about a half hour ago. I'll do about $160 shipped for it. I think the 70mm tb is a better choice, but at the price im selling mine, its not gonna give you $100 more of a benifit if you follow me

I would go with the 70mm TB. I have one and I noticed a gain in throttle response, plus a quite interesting hissing sound that IMO sounds kinda cool.

I did it only because I plan on HCI later, and the price was killer.

Look around, I bought my 1 year old BBK 70mm+EGR used from friend for $90.

I have Cobra intake, GT40P heads, Ecam etc...and I just bought a 70mm TB. I also got a 75mm Granatelli (Pro-M) MAF to go with it, because a bigger TB without a bigger MAF is useless. I put the MAF in, and the gains were noticeable. I didn't put the TB in because they forgot to send the new bigger gaskets, which are on the way now. I spent 170 shipped on Ebay for one by MAC, MustangWarehouse sells them on there for that price.

I have gt40 heads, cobra intake, b303 cam, and c&l 76mm maf with a 65 mm tb. Will changing to 70mm show any increase or should I just stick to what I have?
