Hey there! I'm new!
I have this headache... :bang: And I hope someone can help me PLEASE!

Is there any visual differences between a1971 and a 1972 Mustang Mach1?
I know about the difference on the standard Mustang same year models (The "Mustang" lettering on the trunk lid).

But is there anything I can look for, besides if there is a "1" or a "2" in the front window...

I can tell the difference in any other Mustang from early 65 through 73.
This is keeping me up at night! :bang: :bang:

Thank you..... :)

the changes from 71-71 were very minor, almost un-noticable. I think the driving/fog light configuration and the grill are the only thing. There were other slight changes moving to 73 with the front end because 73 fenders do not fit a 71 or 72.

Thank you for replying! :)
I know there are more changes on the 73 model. The front fender on a 73 does not fit a 71 or 72 model becaause of new safty regulations at the time. The fender had to be able to absorb an impact from a sertain speed. I can't remember what speed, but there were new regulations for the 73 model. (I'm pretty sure)

I'll check into the front grille and lights. See if I can find something...

Here's an interesting tid bit-in 71 & 72 there was nothing below the quarter extensions, they just ended. On the 73, there's rubber piece that fits into the bottom of the quarter extensions and is supposed to fill in the little "indent" in the quarter where the bumper come around. Check it out-my DH just noticed it while at a show a few weekends ago...The hood latches are also different from 71/71 to 73.

Cant help much on 71 vs 72, as we're trying to compare 71 to 73...
