i've been considering something like this for a car for my daughter when she's old enough to drive, but haven't researched it much yet. the engine bay in the 71-73 stangs was made to accept the boss 429 and the sohc motor is about the same width as the boss '9, maybe a little narrower. i'm thinking it should fit but you'll have to do some modifications to both the car and the engine more than likely. i know you'll need custom mounts and probably a modified oil pan and you may also need to modify the crossmember on the car a little. then again it may drop right in with custom mounts but i wouldn't count on it. my only other concern would be the exhaust manifolds on the engine and whether or not they will clear the shock towers.

i'm not sure if the 4.6 would offer any real advantage over a 302 with or without efi or not. i was considering because by the time my daughter is able to drive (at least another 7 years) the 4.6 parts will probably be more plentiful than pushrod parts.

i know you can use CV brakes front and rear but you'll need to buy one of the spacer kits for the rear brakes on ebay and make your own brackets and such for the fronts but i have seen it done.
