I have a II with a 2300 in it. How tough is it to rebuild one of these? If theres anyone that has a write up on rebuilding one or someone who could lend me some info, that would be Great! Thanks!
A 2.3 rebuild is easy. I did one with nothing more to go by than a list of bearing clearance specs & torque specs, some plastigage, and a torque wrench. First rebuild too, and it's been in my Thunderbird for about 3 years now and run pretty hard.

I rebuilt the 2.3L in my 1976 hatch. A Chilton's, a torque wrench, and a set of Metric sockets will pretty much do the job if you are having a machinst do the crank and block. I did have to buy a 12 point socket to get the head bolts out. A half-inch set of sockets is preferrable as those head bolts can REALLY be in there tight.
I picked up a used Ranger roller cam and roller followers for my next rebuild, plus a Offy 4 bbl intake and 390 CFM Holley 4bbl carb. Might as well make some power while its out!
