'79 Foxbody 302 Swap

Hey guys ill leave this as short as possible, but just bought a 1979 fox i6. Ive noticed that most fox parts are for 89-93. So my first question is if it fits on a 89-93 more than likely it will fit on the 79 with the exception of a few parts? Next question will be what is the best automatic transmission for a 5.0 pushing upper 200hp? Thanks for those willing to answer my questions and please no trolls. Idk everything there is to know on mustangs that's why I'm asking.

A lot changed between 79 abd 87. The good news is a 302 should fit your k member. If not an 87-93 k member will bolt right in. While you are at it I would completely update your suspension as well. Assuming you only want to push 200hp you could run any transmission you want. An aod will likely be the easiest choice.

I remember reading some where that the inline 6 had a different k-member. I've never worked on one so I cant be shure, but I would look into that.
