Ok I have a 79 mustang with a 289. Well every time I take the engine or tranny out it is always a nightmare to get them back in because the engine was cocked in there. So I take the engine out to install my new oil pan and I notice that the drivers side motor mount looked different then the passangers side. After looking at it I realize that there is the same bracket on the drivers side as the pass. and the stud is to far forward. I got new motor mounts and the pass. mounts fine and again the drivers side doesnt fit my bracket right. The stud is to far forward. So my question is can I just use the 85-95 style mount or who makes the brackets for mine so I can just get some more and use my mounts? I bought the car with these mounts and brackets on it. So I dont think that the drivers side is right but the passengers side looks correct.

I used the later style convertible mounts. They work great but they move the engine forward a little.

I assume the mounts on the 289 block are the same as a 302. I installed a 69 302 block in my 82 Capri w1th vert moints and it worked fine.
