hey y'all, i just got my 8.8 back from a buddy that shortened it for me. i'm cleaning it up now and will be doing a self etching primer along with a coat of gloss black spray paint (not sure what kind yet). I bought a 8.8 rebuild kit (MOTIVE GEAR R88RSKT), a new right short side axle (DANA 20226361 Axle Shaft) and an all new stock explorer disc brake kit (POWER STOP KCOE1858). I'm trying to bring this back to a stock explorer rear end before i start the swap into my '67 mustang. I do have some issues though, i'm having a tough time finding shock plates/u-bolts that fit the 3.25 axle housing, Currie made some (CUR CE-7007A) but it looks like they are discontinued. I also need some guidance on the brake line for the rear end, attaching it to the housing and what size to get, since i shorted the housing i can't go buy a complete bake line because it will be too long. I'm pretty sure the stock explorer brake line size is 3/16", not sure what the '67 has but will that be compatible with adapters? If theres anything else i'm not thinking about let me know! I'll cross the parking brake bridge another time.
