a few questions

1)what is involved in swapping a 7.5 rear to an 8.8?

2)where is the best (cheapest) place to find a quality one?

3)whats the difference in 28 and 31 spline axles?

i have no clue about any of this, but was told it would be a good thing to do if building up the engine (or just for added stability and durability)

It is a direct swap in our cars. It is not that hard. You take the complete axle off and swap it. Brakes and all.

How many teeth that the axles have. 31 is beefier and stronger. All high HP cars go with them for they will not snap as easy.

A cheap one is a used one? you can just try some junkyard.

what about suspension.. springs, shocks, control arms?
can i keep the same ones or need new ones?

You can keep the ones you have it is a direct replacement.
